TIP TOEY JOEY Based in Brazil, Tip Toey Joey shoes were developed by a dad who couldn’t find the perfect pair of shoes for his baby girl. These shoes are crafted of soft, 100% genuine leather inside and out. They allow your child's feet to breathe, grow without restriction, flex naturally, and they feature a contoured design to match the shape of your child's feet.. Of course, all of these unique benefits mean little if the shoes aren’t fun to look at! The high-quality, eye-catching shoes are for those who demand the very best for their babies feet. The brand makes shoes for three distinct age groups: baby, toddler, and junior.
TTJ Baby collection is specially designed for children between 0 and 24 months. Shoes are soft, non-restrictive, and they allow baby's feet to develop properly. All baby shoes feature an exclusive stretching heel for ease and fit (easy to put on, but not easy for babies to take off). They also have a thin rubber sole that gives new walkers grip and protection while still allowing them to sense irregularities in the ground- something that is essential for the natural development of foot muscles, balance, and posture.
TTJ Toddler shoes are a soft shoe that does not restrict their foot development but offers a stronger sole and greater heel support that helps the child find balance while still learning to walk. The collection is thoughtfully designed for children aged 1 to 3 years, when the foot is still growing rapidly and the foot bones are not yet linked together.
TTJ Junior shoes are designed for children between the ages of 3 and 8 years. This age group is much more dynamic and adventurous! These shoes respect and support the foot’s continued development during these important years as the foot becomes more structured and defined, gains more controlled flexibility, and develops its arch. During this phase, the difference between boys’ and girls’ feet becomes more apparent, so shoes are structured for each gender.
Care info: Clean only with a damp cloth and mild soap. Water, bleach, and solvents will damage the leather. Dry in shade, out of direct sunlight. Do not machine wash.
PEDIPED Coined as “the next best thing to bare feet”, Pediped was created in 2004 by a couple who wanted shoes that were stylish at the same time as being good for their daughter’s feet. These shoes are loaded with features that are healthy for foot development, so much so that Pediped has been awarded the prestigious Seal of Acceptance from the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA). They have a footwear system that takes children from birth through the start of elementary school. These stages are:
Originals shoes start at birth and continue to age 2. They have soft leather soles with the slightest bit of traction for when the child takes its first steps. Pediatricians and podiatrists recommend these soles at this age because they allow children to closely mimic barefoot walking.
Grip n' Go steps in from 9 months through 3 years. Once a child is moving around, they will need a bit more support. These shoes have soft rubber soles, rounded edges that mimic the shape of a child's foot, heel stability, and a soft toe box to allow toes to grip the floor.
Flex rounds out the system for ages 1 through 8 years. These shoes boast cushioned arch support and a soft, flexible rubber sole. Flex shoes also allow you to adjust the fit for prolong wear. Shoes come with additional insoles that can be inserted for a snug fit in the beginning then removed for room as your child’s foot grows. These insoles can reduce shoe size by almost half a size, extending the life of the shoe.
Several shoes within the three stages of the system have additional benefits (such as machine washable, memory foam technology, etc). Be sure to read the description of each shoe to learn more about what it can do for your child in aiding them to walk. Overall, Pediped is a good narrow to medium fit in the width. Mary Jane styles also offer a pretty good depth to accommodate high insteps, too.
LIVIE AND LUCA LIVIE AND LUCA Created in 2005 by two moms who wanted to spread joy. That being their goal we believe these shoes do the trick, because they are SO much fun to look at! The shoes are about whimsy and joy… bold designs, embroideries, appliques…all are pretty standard in the styling of this line. Also, all shoes are made by hand, so there will be slight variations within each shoe…making each one “an original”.
In addition to the fun, the brand has a high ethical standard. They donate shoes to Art for Humanity. They care about sustainability (shoe boxes are made of 50% recycled paper, they chose their factories carefully, brochures/business cards are printed on post-consumer product, etc) Also, they do not used harmful chemicals in their leather tanning process, the leather is lead free, and the glue used to make the shoes is non-toxic. All of this means that you can feel good when buying these shoes.
NATIVE Created in 2009 in Vancouver, Canada. The brand was formed with a vision to combine the best of evolving technology and great design. These shoes are for peeps who seriously understand the word "cool". The shoes designs are classic silhouettes that we all know and love, but they are made from sfoam-injection molded-EVA...which is a lightweight, durable, and comfortable material. Because of the ease of the shoe (in being lightweight and easy to care for), Native's tagline is "Keep it Lite". Shoe benefits include: cool factor, water proof, slip on, washable, molds to your feet, low emission manufacturing process, odor resistant, anti microbial, and incredibly well priced.
ME IN MIND was created in 2004. The concept was to create an infant shoe that was designed with the idea of instilling elastic features, soft soles, and cutting-edge style. These shoes are high quality construction and super affordable.
NEON EATERS What makes Neon Eaters great is how fun they are to look at. The design is based on the vulcanized slip on style that is popular with skate brands, but these styles also come in n shoes, but with super cool, "kid friendly" prints. The fact that the price is great is an added bonus!
MORGAN AND MILO Created in 2003. This brand developed as an alternative to high-priced European styles or inexpensive character-driven shoes. Styling is classic and shoes are comfortable for kids' feet. Shoes are well-suited for everyday wear and all children's activities--puddle jumping, bike riding, puppy dog chasing, etc. Designs are simple, clean, and traditional with a nod to modern sensibilities.
